Programme of activities


July 8 to 11: "Introduction to Edible and medicinal flora of the Alps"

Since man has always nourished and cared for with wild plants. But modern society has gradually abandoned. Sandrine BUFFIN, mountain guide and a student in third year at school Lyonnaise medicinal plants, proposes to discover the secrets during a stroll around the charming listed village of Besse en Oisans. These walks will be an opportunity to reconnect with the knowledge of the past and learn more about these plants that we encounter every day by the roadside. Through paths, according to our meetings, sorrel, thyme or bardanne we deliver some of their secrets. Fritters, coltsfoot and comfrey to gratins goosefoot or nettles, we will find some culinary uses. In total twenty plants will enrich our walk. In the evening, we will test the flavors of some of them around a convivial meal.

2 days of hiking framed + 3 nights half board at Hotel Alpin, a boutique hotel located in the village of Besse en Oisans.

Rates: 256 € / person or 210 € for 3 nights half board + 46 € for two days of hiking. Minimum 4 people.

9 and 10 July 2011: 2nd edition of the Regional Gathering "block party" at the Grand Sablat

Committees organized by the Rhone-Alpes Isère and the French Federation of Climbing and Mountain (FFME) and a common Clavans in High-Oisans, gathering of climbers on the site of the Grand Chaos Sablat.

Initiation climbing for all ages.

Wildlife exposure of Oisans.

Observation of raptors with the guards of the Ecrins National Park.

Nutrition Workshop of the climber.

Evening bivouac.

Day trip and a half horse on the set with Emparis night in a shelter:

Discover the plateau Emparis horse with Laurent Hustache, equestrian tourism guide graduate! After a day trip (circuit set with Laurent), spend the night in a shelter from the board and enjoy traditional cuisine of Oisans.

Exhibitions at the House of Alpine

The Faces of Black Herpie, February 5, December 31, 2011

Mine the Herpie, located in the mountains of Big Red, between 2100m and 2800m altitude, the coal mine is the highest in Europe. The first written records of its operations back to the seventeenth century. The exhibition presents the history of this mine, living conditions and child labor, before the accident recount of 1950, followed a few months later, the mine closure.

It was the last mining Oisans.

Home of Alpine this exhibition is for the sake of memory and transmission for all and especially for new generations, as a tribute to the men missing in a great respect for their memory. A real page in the history of the Oisans where many men from the villages of Canton worked winters as soon snowmelt, flooding galleries making work impossible, the miners and peasants returning to their fields .

Fishing and Fishermen in Oisans, 0ctober-April 2011

Introduction to fishing in lakes, streams, rivers in the mountains. To discover the different fishing techniques as well as fish such as Rainbow trout, brown trout, salmon of the fountain, the Arctic Char ..., not forgetting the fishing tackle of yesterday and today.
